The Mathematics Department invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor starting fall 2014, pending budget approval. The successful candidate should be willing  to teach a wide variety of courses in the undergraduate curriculum. The areas of specialization for the position are open although we are especially interested in scholars who focus on any of the following: analysis, applied math, statistics or actuarial science. In addition candidates should be willing to teach service level courses including calculus, elementary statistics or math for the liberal arts. Responsibilities for the position include teaching 9 credit hours per semester, maintaining an active research program, and service to the department, the University and the community. Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in mathematics and strong credentials in teaching effectiveness.

 A full application includes a letter of intent, curriculum vitae, teaching and research statements, and three letters of recommendation. At least one letter should address teaching effectiveness.
