SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, the Operations & Marketing Manager assists the Associate Athletic Directors with the operations and marketing of the athletic program, including specifically assisting with the business operation, management of home athletic events, and oversees the set-up of the athletic facilities.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Under the direction of the Associate Athletic Director assists in management of  budget operations
  • Assist the Associate Athletic Director with all marketing & promotion initiatives, including but not limited to, sponsorship fulfillment, game scripting and game day promotions
  • Manages home athletic events including scheduling of game day staff
  • Coordinates the set-up of the Gallagher Center, Dwyer Ice Rink, Niagara field, Bobo Field, Softball Field, natatorium and tennis courts
  • Process & facilitate all facility work orders for maintenance and janitorial services
  • Input all scheduling info into University wide system (Ad Astra)
  • Maintain confidentiality of information (including but not limited to: student and employee personal information, student grades, etc.), both during and after their employment with the University. Any question regarding the confidentiality of material, should be referred to the supervisor. Any violation shall subject the employee to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

40%      Oversees the management of home athletic events;

20%      Marketing initiatives and sponsorship fulfillment

15%      Coordinates athletic facilities

10%      Assist with budget operations;

10%      Performs other duties as assigned

 5%     Processing work orders & scheduling requests


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  1. Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays when necessary.
  2. Strong interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills.
  3. Ability to supervise part time and student employees.
  4. Ability to understand and implement the business procedures of the University.
  5. Proficiency to handle various office machines including but not limited to: computer keyboard, computer software applications, calculator, copy machine and fax.
  6. Ability to receive telephone calls, respond to inquiries and communicate with others by telephone.
  7. Knowledge of computer programs as they relate to the position.
  8. Knowledge of marketing, operations and equipment management techniques.

 


ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS:

The functions of the position usually performed sitting, but may require some amount of time standing. Some amount of stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying and other movements may be required. This position may require traveling. Tasks involving working on a computer keyboard, computer software applications, and calculator, involve extensive wrist and hand movement. All individuals are required to be able to perform these movements without significant risk of injury to themselves or others.


QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
    1.  Bachelor's degree in related field is required.
    2.   Two years experience performing similar tasks is required.
    3.   Valid driver’s license required. License must meet insurance company rules and regulations for driving underwriting criteria.
