TITLE OF IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:

direct supervision, the H.V.A.C. Mechanic performs duties related to the
repair, maintenance, operation, adjustment, and/or installation of heating,
air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment and related electric or pneumatic
- Install, repair, adjust, service and
maintain systems for heating, ventilation, air-conditioning including pneumatic
and electric controls;
- Repair, clean, adjust and install oil
and gas burners and auxiliary heating specialties other than high-pressure
- Maintain air compressors, air dryers,
and low voltage installations such as warning light systems;
- Install, operate, service and repair
conventional mechanical refrigeration/air conditioning equipment including ice
machines, refrigerators and general-purpose air-conditioning units;
- Work with an automated energy
management system to control building environment;
- Considered essential personnel which
means that this position may be needed at times when the University is closed
or in emergency situations as determined by supervisor;

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to read and interpret
blueprints and systems diagrams.
- Knowledge of heating,
refrigeration/air-conditioning equipment and/or pneumatic and electrical
- Ability to exhibit journey level skill
in the maintenance and repair procedures including preventative maintenance,
breakdown repair, and trouble-shooting, construction, installation and
fabrication techniques typical in trade.
- Good mechanical judgement and a
working knowledge of general construction principles.
- Computer skills necessary to operate
Energy Management systems.
- Ability to perform all of the above

- High School diploma and trade or
vocational training required, otherwise, any combination of education
equivalent to graduation from high school or other combination of education,
training and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and

license is required that satisfies both University and insurance company
underwriting rules and regulations for driving a motor vehicle.
- Experience with Energy Management
systems and computer skills necessary to operate programs.
